Sustainable Housekeeping
We give all guests the option to give back by participating in our Green Housekeeping or linen re-use programs. We have a linen re-use program that allows for a reduced carbon footprint. The savings are reflected in energy use, water use, and less chemical disposal, which allows for increased longevity in linen. Guests also have the option to opt-out of housekeeping service daily and receive hotel credit in return.
Conserving Resources
Our approach to conserving resources is environmentally sensitive and comfortable for guests.
- We use 30% less water and 21% less energy than most hotels with programs and energy-star appliances in place.
- The product used in our laundry area is acknowledged by the EPA.
- Digital Guest Phone System eliminates the need for a paper guest directory.
- Consumable paper products, including 20% PCW toilet tissue and facial tissue, are used in our guest rooms.
- All rooms feature dual-flush toilets and low-flow water fixtures.
- Carpet throughout the hotel is made of recycled materials.
- Office copy machines and printers are defaulted to double-sided printing.
Hotel-Wide Recycling
The building has recycling in all common areas and recycles all possible materials. Items recycled include paper, plastic, toner, wire hangers, batteries, cooking oil, and light bulbs. In partnership with Clean the World®, we collect leftover soaps and toiletries that are sanitized and distributed worldwide in communities where they are needed.
Donations
We feel giving back to the community is extremely important and try to donate in any way we can. We donate our time in frequent give-back events with local charities. We also partner with Naperville Hospitality Helps through volunteer efforts.
We donate surplus items to local charities. This also helps to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills. These items include bath amenities, linens, towels, food, newspapers, magazines, and various other items gathered from internal donation drives.
Sustainable Purchasing Policy
We make every effort to minimize our operational impact by purchasing eco-friendly products, partnering with like-minded vendors and making sound eco-operational decisions, while providing the highest level of service to our guests.
